Bottle Gourd, also known as Calabash Gourd, is one of the most picked vegetables, famous for its nutrient contents. Gourd juice offers a lot of healthy benefits, weight loss being the most prominent.
Here is how you can prepare juice from bottle gourd.
Step 1: Select a fresh Bottle Gourd
Get a pale green colored bottle gourd with plain skin. Check if the skin of the gourd is too soft. Also, check for any cuts, spots or blemishes.Cut into some big slices to check for any rotten spots or pests from the inside.
Step 2: Chop it
To chop bottle gourd into cubes
- Skin the bottle gourd.
- Cut into two halves and into vertical pieces by cutting them lengthwise, using a chopping board and a knife
- Group the pieces in a straight line and cut them horizontally to get cubical shapes
- Ground them in the mixer
Step 3: Grind it
Use a juicer to get the juice from the cut bottle gourd cubes. Alternatively, if you are using a blender, you can add ice cubes as well as water to extract bottle gourd juice.
Step 4: Add sugar or salt
Once you have blended or grinded the bottle gourd juice, add sugar as required. In case you are using the gourd juice for weight loss purpose, add salt to taste.
Step 5: Other Ingredients to add
To make bottle gourd juice taste better, you can also add other ingredients like

Step 6: Refrigerate
